Democrats: Absent Tax Hikes, We're Totally Willing to Head Over the Fiscal Cliff

Yes, the U.S. Constitution says Congress controls the purse strings. It was the Republican-controlled Congress of the 1990's, six of Bubba's eight years had a Republican Speaker of the House, that ruthlessly cut our national security. Those Clinton administration defense cuts were Republican Congress defense cuts. This country was unprepared for 9-11 and its aftermath because of the Republican party. Remember how many of the Republican presidential contenders in 2008 parroted 'Clinton administration defense cuts put this country in danger?' All!

Stop lying for once in your life, you left-wing troll. You know damn well that the Clinton administration gutted the military and left the country vulnerable to 9-11 in order to claim a budget surplus. You know damn well that the country was rolling into a recession when Clinton left office, and that he was the only President who was able to use the line-item veto in order to get around Congress. Of couse, facts have never mattered to you because you are more interested in destroying your parents and your children so you can live high on the hog. No person with good will will ever want you to succeed.

Profoundly irresponsible?  Of course.  Politically insane?  Not really.  I'll expound on the second point in a moment, but first, let's survey the brazen talk from Team Blue -- with massive, recession-inducing tax hikes hanging in the balance.  Our new friend Patty Murray is at the front of the line:

Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) says that if Republicans do not agree to let tax cuts expire for Americans making over $250,000 per year, the country should go over the fiscal cliff, which would allow automatic cuts in spending and the expiration of all tax cuts to...
