While I'm sorry for the death of our ambassasor and the other 3 American lives lost, I'm not going to lay the blame at the feet of the State Department. If your duties entail your sitting in front of a fan in full knowledge that there's someone always sitting behind it with a big bag of manure, it would seem to me that you'd better be ready to duck, jump, or otherwise get out of the way when that manure hits the fan.

Benghazi is the most dangerous city in the region to be an American let alone an American ambassador. Why was he there with a guy who the month before said his job was to find missing weapons from the Arab Spring mess as a supposed body guard? Why were 2 "State Department" officials acting as body guards in the first place? Why was the Ambassador flown directly to Benghazi instead of to Tripoli and the embassy for briefing before his trip to Benghazi? Many questions need to be answered like if the Ambassador was killed as part of the protest violence why was he killed before the rioting started? Something is very fishy in the state of Denmark.

The leadership STILL has responsibility for the security of their people.
It's pretty clear that Comrade Hussein doesn't care about his underlings, they are all expendable.

That's right it was the State Department's fault for being targets.

So you don't bother to protect other people ahead of just prepare to get out of the way when the stuff hits the fan?

I think Hillary and barack went to the same school of thought.

OK - you've got dumbest post of the day. Your prize - an autographed picture of Hillary Clinton (without makeup) is in the mail.

The duty of the ambassador is to extend a diplomatic hand to foreign governments. The Department of State, and its Secretary, are directly respnsible for the physical security of all embassies abroad and the personal security of all American personnel assigned to these embassies worldwide. This is how it works, and this is the extent of the failure of this regime in DC.

I'm somewhat mystified by the Obama administration and campaign's continued attempts to convince Americans that the deadly raid on our consulate in Benghazi was not premeditated.  They're obviously trying to shield the president from political fallout for the horrifically inadequate security measures at our outpost there, but contradictory evidence is mounting.  Libyan officials and eyewitnesses have described the nature of the attack as clearly pre-planned, and US Senators briefed on the matter have drawn similar conclusions.  The president has fielded precisely zero questions on this matter...
