I am shocked that the normally vapid Doug Giles hit on one of the neatest points about religious faith: that it has consistently produced, down through history, the finest art that humanity has ever created. Religious faith has brought out what is best in man; atheism has brought out the worst -- as anyone who has witnessed what passed for art in the USSR could attest. In other words, Christianity led to the Hallelujah Chorus, atheism to the latest barf that Madonna puked up. Christianity wins, atheism loses. Q.E.D.

Yep, the anti-theists I used to hang out with in the Lone Star state were rugged individualists who were so busy milking this existence that they didn’t have time to bleat like a stuck sheep because a plastic baby Jesus statue endangered their delicate beliefs.
