How Obama Wins

BO's electoral strategy was simple: charisma + bigotry + fraud = victory. Charisma: I certainly don't see it, but Chris Matthews gets tingles. Bigotry: There are tens of millions of voters who voted for him because of the color of his skin. Fraud: Lots and lots and lots of it -- "Chicago" in cities all over the U.S. In 2014, (his last election, unless Moochelle runs in 2016) it will be hard for BO to get the House majority he needs because (1) he won't be on the ticket, so his charisma won't matter much; (2) House elections are not nationwide, and so the bigotry & fraud so common in big cities won't play much. No matter how much he blames the Repubs (as Shapiro says), it won't help him win in the future as easily as he won in 2012.

President Obama is one of the great political knife-fighters in modern history. He is a failed president -- his economy is bleak, his foreign policy bleaker, his vision for American even bleaker still. But he wins.

He wins by losing.

President Obama has only had two major policy victories during his tenure: the stimulus package and Obamacare. Both are massively unpopular. The stimulus package launched the tea party movement. Obamacare led to the Republican wipeout of 2010.

Then Obama began to lose. He wasn't able to push forward climate change legislation or immigration reform or gun control or increased taxes before the election...
