The police chiefs in places like Baltimore and Chicago, have to please liberal mayors, and will say whatever is necessary to keep their jobs. They also have worked their careers in cities where citizens have traditionally not been allowed to carry firearms, thus have no clue as to how citizens are doing that responsibly.

Nearly three weeks ago, Baltimore County Police Chief James Johnson testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about what America can do to stop gun violence. During his testimony, he stressed the importance of the reinstatement of an assault weapons ban.

"The ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines must be reinstated. Like assault weapons, high-capacity magazines are not used for hunting, do not belong in our homes and wreak havoc in our communities," Johnson said.
