I don't really blame Boehner, he was not the one that nominated Dede Scozzafava. It was the local party, under the control of the local representatives that made that call. The RNC was stuck with it, until Scozzafava backed out. Individual Republicans did back Hoffman and now the party is free to do so as well. If there had been a primary, I would imagine that Hoffman would have been the nominee. This is a lesson not only to the Republicans, but to conservatives as well..they need to get involved in local politics so that people like Dede don't get the nod in the first place, blaming the national party after the nomination is a cop out.
I don't support Obama,I never have. I don't think he has done a good job with the oil spill. However, I don't think that anyone needs to apologize to or feel sorry for BP. They gave tons of money to Obama and the Democrats, they supported cap and trade and they certainly are responsible for this disaster. In fact I would not be surprised if they were agreeable to the $20 billion in escrow, just because it might ease their burden in the long run. It is true that people on the Gulf can sue, but there is so much damage and so many claims that it would take years and years for those suits to be settled, and the people down there need help now.
