I think we should move directly to mouth control; politicians and pundits, that is. I don't need them telling me what I should or should not do.

Obama can't be serious about reducing violent deaths of children unless he includes a ban on abortion with a ban on assault weapons. Abortions make assault weapons look like a non-issue.

This information was available to the GOP during the election process. They knew the demographics. They knew what they were up against. Yet, they could not appeal to the Blacks, Latinos or Asians. They did a lousy job of selling what Republicans have to offer: jobs, freedom, morality, and sanity. The GOP better learn how to sell their values or they will stay on the sidelines from now on. A need for a new strong third party will become evident if that happens. A new party of freedom, smaller government, growth, and prosperity. Values that used to be associated with the GOP.

I think Ann is pointing out that the GOP has not learned how to sell its values to voters. They have not learned how to differentiate themselves from the Democrats. They can't explain sufficiently why other races should vote for the GOP rather than the Democrats. Doesn't matter what candidate they put forth, the message is weak, weak, weak. How hard is it show that the Democrats aren't doing anything for Latinos and Blacks? How hard is it to show that having real competition for leadership helps everyone get better leaders. When the Democrats can take the Latinos and Blacks for granted, they don't have to pay much attention to them. They can concentrate on other blocs and other issues. The GOP has to learn to be better at selling.
