The home district should pay all the expenses of their rep. Salary, travel, Washington office, etc. If the people were paying all those costs directly, there would be WAY less spending on stupid stuff like chartered flights, large offices, large staff, etc.

It would dilute the power of each Representative, which is a good thing.
I think I have to give this one a big “Who cares.” I spent a year in Korea back in 1989, and onetime, when I needed to use the restroom before boarding a bus, I found out the “restroom” was some plastic buckets around the back. Totally open to people walking by. Since they didn’t care, I didn’t care.
Yelling "Fire!" in a theater is a time/place/manner restriction. You have the right to yell fire, just not there, or at that time. Same as using a bullhorn and giving a political speech at 3am in a residential neighborhood. You can give your speech, but not at 3am, when folks are trying to sleep. And I actually agree that there are many groups trying to silence Christians. But is this a surprise? Didn't Christ say we would be persecuted for our beliefs? This has been going on since Jesus walked the earth. And I actually agree that there are many groups trying to silence Christians. But is this a surprise? Those are the facts. Agreed. But what do you propose we do? Demean, destroy, distort back at them? Get down in the gutter with them? How about we work to elect representatives that believe in freedom and the original intent of the Constitution?
Yes, of course atheists have God-given rights. Do you think God doesn't exist in their world?
Support of censorship? Who is supporting censorship? Who's speech was censored? Certainly not Phil's. And while I don't know Tin, I can say he's not saying A&E was morally right in firing Phil, he's just saying it's their right to hire or fire anyone they choose.
Morgan is wrong. I think we all agree on this. And Phil Robertson certainly should have the right to say anything. And I find it disturbing that companies are more and more punishing their employees for what they say and do outside of work. But what Tin and his troll pal (I assume that's me?) are saying is that all humans have the right to freedom. The Founders believed this, and I believe this. And they tried to make sure our government would never take that away from us.
Since when is defending freedom a persecution of Christians?
He's not defending A&E. He's making the point that EVERYONE has the God-given right to freedom, which includes free speech. Even nut cases like Piers Morgan. Some of the folks here seem like the flip side of GLADD. GLADD hates us when we say something that offends them, and the folks here hates people like Piers Morgan when he says something that offends them. Why can't we just leave each other alone, and let people do and say what they want?
