That's already happened, sly .... in the NRO version of Mona Charen's piece, there's a link to the article in the Weekly Standard, written by Jonathan Last. In Mr. Last's longer analysis, he mentions: The anti-phosphorus lobby began by agitating against phosphates in laundry detergent. In the early 1990s they were banned, though an exception was made for dish detergents. Now phosphates are banned in dish detergents, too, though these bans make an exception for commercial dish detergents, which still contain phosphates. Surely they are next in line for improvement. I'm just being a speculating non-chemist here, but maybe that explains why I can't get the sweat stains out of my new fabric "cool, wick-dry" golf...

Let me see here -- NARAL, Planned Parenthood, NOW et als stand for, lobby for and demand that every woman should have the absolute right as individuals to choose to terminate the life of an inconvenient fetus, unfettered by the interference of others; yet, dang near every one of us is now fettered, shackled and bound to buy unsatisfactory dishwasher detergents without the least bit of forewarning that simple consumer choice is a thing of the past? Perhaps all American men should wear Scottish kilts the next time we fly, and let the TSA gropers find out if we wear anything under those kilts.... Come to think of it, though, it wouldn't answer the age-old question. Since we're not all Scots, how would the TSA know -- "What do the Scots wear under those things?"
