For people who love freedom and detest oppression, the idea of socialized medicine in a no-brainer. Forcing one person to bear the cost of others' needs is not "caring or respecting" - it is force used ON one citizen FOR the benefit of another. A pretty fair description of socialism.

Until Obama was elected I had no idea such a large segment of Americans had stopped valuing liberty. It's worrisome - and disgusting - that so many are not only willing to give up their freedoms, but are begging and pleading to have those freedoms taken away and brow-beating those who want to retain theirs.

Almost all issues between liberals and conservatives come down to this: will this enhance my freedom or will this diminish my freedom....

A great article, but one thing disturbs me greatly, and that is Galen's comment that the CIA must follow the law and keep Congress informed.

This may be the law - but somehow it should be changed. Telling this Congress, especially this Senate, is somewhat akin to calling the Taliban with the same information. Those people couldn't keep a secret even if it meant their children's lives.

Congress is NOT our friend, good people. I consider Congress one of our worst enemies, if not THE worst enemy, America has. The people we have seated in power cannot be trusted - they have proven it over and over and over. Things will not get better until the House and Senate buildings are emptied, sanitized, and filled with new people,...
