Repeat of 1986: Citizenship to Come First, Border Security Later

So, why are the Republicans sponsoring this treason? Why did BOTH Bush 41 & Bush 43 refuse to seal the US/Mexico border from the invasion? Bush 41 was the first president tasked with the enforcement portion of of the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act and he refused to control the border -- even when that meant that not only illegals, but tons of cocaine would be crossing into the US. So much for Law and Order Republicans! They are ALL low-life traitors, both those sporting an R and those sporting a D.

I would say McCain is worse than Obama. At least Obama's motives are understandable -- amnesty for him is political coalition-building as well as universalist fantasy realization. But McCain, the Republican, thinks our economy desperately "needs" illiterate and crime-prone workers from Mexico and Central America. And he passes himself off as a "conservative."

Agreed: political leaders of both major parties have betrayed us.

UPDATE: During an interview on The Ed Morrissey Show, Rubio said he would not support any legislation that does not guarantee enforcement and border security before the Green Card process starts.

"We have to make sure this law is structured in a way that guarantees enforcement," Rubio said, adding if we don't do both, enforcement and citizenship, we'll see another wave of undocumented people in the future.

Legislation is expected in March and possibly introduced to the Senate floor in April. President Obama will release his plan for immigration reform tomorrow.
