I am willing to wager whatever you want that we will find the killer was NOT an NRA member. The NRA teaches gun SAFETY! But now you liberals want the federal government to come after the guns. To specifically go against the reason for the second amendment which is to protect us from the federal government.

Obama is crying so loudly for bi-partisanship for several reasons. If the republicans do not go along with him he can say they are the obstructionists and it is their fault. If they do go along and the action is a disaster then he will say that the republicans were all on board with it also. And if the plan works then he will say that he brought everyone together and led America out of the woods. But the bottom line is that he doesn't have a clue what to do and just wants to insulate himself the best he can. That is why he was championing the fact that he cut taxes 18 times. Each cut was like throwing a dart at a target he can't see. He just hopes he hits something. Well, 18 darts and no economic improvement.
This is a prime example of government involved in something that they know nothing about. They never think about unintended consequences. None of them are bankers so keep them out of our banks. They are not doctors so keep them out of medicine. They are not insurance agents so keep them out of insurance. They are not teachers so keep them out of our schools. Maintain defense and regulate trade. Leave the rest to the states and the people.

Government does not make business possible. Government gets in the way of free enterprise. I will cede that there is no such thing as free enterprise anymore. But since the playing field is level, as in everyone has the same access to technology and the roads, it is still the individual that takes the chance and makes it work.

You are entirely correct. But it will take about a generation to do this. We have to let those that paid in remain if they want but the younger workers could opt out for a private savings. This is going to add more to the debt but it will be better in the end when the program is gone.

"And yet the facts are that our government made a promise, and made the mistake of putting in writing, and every taxpayer since 1936 has in fact paid into the fictitious Social Security Trust Fund and therefore expects something in return." I think the Native Americans could make this same claim. Remember, you are talking about the givernment here.

I would like to know when "America" declared this. It is being said that, within a generation, caucasians will not be the majority. We have not had capitalism for over 50 years. It would be good to return to it rather than liberal fascism. And Christianity is being assailed more now than ever before. The Jim Crow laws are a thing of the (democrat) past and will not be coming back. You spout your platitudes as if there were some serious movement afoot but you sound more like you are hiding from your own shadow.

Your left wing fact manipulation is amusing. Just like Maobama saying that his administration has held the line on spending after he started his administration by adding $850 billion to the deficit. And then baselines from there. Corporate profits are up for the same reason that economic growth is slower than an arthritic snail. When you drop an avalanche of rules and regulations on business as well as the uncertainty of Obamacare and, now, nearly a million criminal immigrants into the work force, businesses will hold onto their money. They will not invest or add employees because they don't know how much they will be penalized. And I am certain that Dr. Sowell was not heartened by your respect nor saddened by losing it.

Obama is strictly in it for the power. Every year he has said jobs would be #1. And then nothing. People are more likely to vote for him if they think that the givernment (not misspelled) will keep providing for them. He did not stand with the unions in Wis. or the pipeline. Because he knows he will have the union vote. Unemployment is highest among black Americans but he doesn't care because he will have those votes. But he is now going after the Hispanic vote by telling nearly a million young criminal immigrants they can actively join the job pool. Never mind that this will not help the unemployed citizens and will actually cause the unemployment stats to go up. He doesn't care because he will be getting more votes.

niles, Voter fraud was pointed out during many recent elections. Acorn was prosecuted. Democrats said there was voter fraud that cost the election in 2000. And that is what was discovered. Are you going to tell me that we can declare that all of the drugs caught coming into the country is the total amount being brought in? With the analytical skills you possess you must work for the White House.
