I would never want to be in the position of someone who was responsible for the safety of his/her children or grandchildren but chose NOT to own and become proficient with firearms. How do you forgive yourself when you might have prepared yourself to prevent a tragedy and chose not to? You GO, Professor, and more power to you!

What a pity it is that I have to watch fiction on TV to see the "Good Guys" win. What a pity it is that so many cannot see that what's "legal" isn't always moral.
If the owner of a convenience store cannot prevent shoplifting by patrons OR pilfering by his own employees, how widespread is the theft in government? Even a small hospital is unwittingly supplying sheets, towels and toilet tissue for the families of some employees, and it's worse at the VA installations. The larger the business, the more theft goes on. And it doesn't matter whether it's pencils and copy paper or blankets or canned goods, or someone's sister getting preferential treatment with food stamps, we all pay for it.

Immigrants -- Good or Bad?

One impact of immigration in general can be clearly seen. A city of 45,000 people used to be able to have a well-attended Fourth of July parade, but now, about a third of my city's population is not of American heritage, and the poorly attended American celebrations make me cry. Our schools are forced to pay more than lip service to our "global community" so history and civics classes are watered down. Children are no longer taught what it is to be Americans. I could go on and on, but the net effect is that there is a rapidly growing percentage of the population which feels no particular love or loyalty for our republic. That makes us ripe for a take-over by whatever group wants the power over the citizenry. It makes no difference...
The First Amendment is paramount, but it doesn't relieve people from the responsibility to use good judgement and good manners.

The rabbi who was conducting the interview was wearing a yarmulke visible to Ms. Thomas. Had she said that there would be no peace in Israel until the Palestinians could reclaim their "homeland," it would at least have been the truth as she saw it and it would have been politely expressed.

Ms. Thomas used bad judgement when she was so deliberately and venomously rude to the rabbi and the two young men who were with him, and THAT is what earned her the persona non grata status.

Have you ever thought about the number of laws and ordinances that have been passed as a result of people deciding...

Check out the Law of the Seas Treaty and CIFTA. Find out where your elected officials stand on these two items. The camel's whole head is now under the tent.

Magic Numbers in Politics

He is one person who has consistently demonstrated that rarest of all comodities, "common sense."
leads to a long line of people who want it because it's free, whether they need it or not. Have a look at the dining rooms of restaurants that have "all you can eat" nights. The morbid obesity displayed there is horrendous.

Hospital emergency rooms are already clogged with people who know that they won't have to pay the bill, so they don't stop long to think about whether they REALLY need to see a doctor. When people treat a high-tech ER as though it were a modestlyly equipped doctor's office, it wrecks a hospital's budget. That ER MUST have enough staff to handle the numbers of people who demand service. My husband nearly bled to death internally waiting for his turn to be seen, behind all those folks demanding "FREE" care....

Good choice, John!

Investigate the unintended consequences of EMTALA. Come to a Texas hospital emergency room and watch people die in the E. R. lobby because of all the illegal aliens using the E. R. as a primary care facility. Interview Jeff Scionti, Chief Operating Officer of Dallas' Parkland Hospital.

My husband nearly bled to death internally because there were 200 people with headaches and bruises lined up ahead of him. It took eight hours for my husband to see a physician.

People don't use the E. R. wisely if they know the services are FREE. Those of us who have deductibles and co-pays and 80% coverage are MUCH more careful! And our premiums are high, in part because someone has to pay for other people's...
And they are using tax-payer dollars to do it, while Hannah is a flat-broke twenty-year-old who has had to drop out of college for personal security reasons.

How's that for "land of the free and home of the brave?"

You can help Hannah pay the lawyers she will need in order to mount a defense. http://www.defendhannah.com/

ACORN has deep pockets and Hannah has none at all except people who believe in personal freedom, limited government, honor, and a few other old-fashioned values.

She helped us understand what's going on and now she needs OUR help.
