The next president is a world class IDIOT if they don't make Thomas Sowell a senior advisor.

The 'Fairness' Fraud

Government intentionally grew the number of young and unwed mothers by offering more welfare money when the Daddy wasn't around. Hence, we have kids having kids - this cycle has gone on now for the last 40 years and we have a large portion of the population that has no idea what real parenting is as they have never had it modeled for them. It is sad, but not hopeless. As a society we must value life (especially the unborn and the elderly), family, and marriage - when we do that those values will be instilled in our children and then to their children. Please note the absence of the role of government in improving this situation - they have neither the will or the means.
"It's for the children" has been my favorite for years now. Another one is that voters want a president/ congressman "just like them". If anyone was honest with themselves, they wouldn't want someone just like them - they want someone that will lead and make the tough decisions to make this country better. Because most of us spend too much time in front of the TV and/or doing things to entertain ourselves versus making the country better.
The business "choice" is a false one. They can either do business in/with China or fail against those that do. You may not 'care if China pegs their yuan to our dollar', but it's a significant handicap for American businesses. Your points are true in a global sense, but in terms of what is best for America you are way off base. It is the short-sightedness of politicians and business owners that have contributed to the decline of the US as a world economic power. Our 'power' now is rooted in our consumption, the government ensures trade policies that make import of foreign made goods cheap, this increases perceived 'buying power', which increases the preceived standard of living, which keeps politicians in office.

Mike Huckabee's Unanswered Question

While this article only speaks to he personality of Gov Huckabee, you should know that he was governor of Arkansas with a Democrat legislature. He improved education and roads. He provided for the influx of refugees from Katrina, he actually raised a tax temporarily and set them back. Oh, and he did NOT establish a theocracy. Read "From Hope to Higher Ground" for a much more rounded view of Gov Huckabee, how he works out political issues, and his accomplishments. America needs Mike Huckabee.

No Off Button on Sarah Palin

It's not just the tone of the article - it's the way Saunders has joined the Liberals in knocking Palin without addressing anything she said (except the term 'blood libel'). If you want to be taken seriously Debra J, try doing an analysis of what she said or even how she said it. Even Yellin on CNN called her comments "solemn" and "thoughtful". Tadpole out....

Like this would ever happen... "The university forced Jennifer to go through a government-mandated thought control program, which Neal Boortz had endorsed on air." Not the government mandated part, but the Boortz endorsed part - grow up Boortz, put on your big boy pants and quit your whining.

Best response to Obama comment - Rush Limbaugh - (paraphrased) "Americans wouldn't consider Obama a dog if he didn't treat them like a fire hydrant."
