Taxed to Death... And Then Death-Taxed

How many entrepreneurs are going to see themselves as in the upper 1% wealth bracket--which is the only people who the inheritance tax will affect?
And, don't forget--though they don't like to be reminded of it--the Republican philosophy that caused all this. tadcf@prescienceblog.com
There are no 'god-given' rights--only human rights, which the take for themselves. And incidentally, there were no 'Judeo-Christian' anything at the time of the Founding--that term was coined long after wards. Besides Christian values (if the are any) are the same as those believed by many other religions, long before Christ. prescienceblog.com

Assimilation and the Founding Fathers

As usual, Michele Malkin cherry-picks her evidence from the founding fathers to make her point. In effect, the immigration problem is not one of 'amnesty'--whatever that mean (conservatives talk as though it means the same thing to everybody. The problem is divided into two points: 1) What to do with the people who are already here--possibly with families--and may have been here for many years; and 2) What to do with the borders. The ultra-conservative answer to the first problem is to arrest and deport--possibly breaking up families and leaving little children stranded--but they don't care (possible viewing these people as little more than animals). Besides, they deserve it--for breaking our laws in the first place. In fact, I...
Dick Morris and the Republicans can do a good job of criticizing the Obama administration at every turn; but they did such a good job for the previous eight years--leading us into the greatest recession since the Great Depression, unemployment, and the financial and real estate collapse. prescienceblog.com

That some businessmen are looked upon as "kind of sleazy". isn't property of just foreign attitude. Many businessmen are looked upon by our citizens as sleazy too. This attitude has become significantly more prominent as 'real' wages has decline--in deference to increased profits--and especially with the excesses of the financial markets. Wake up to the real world, Stossel. prescienceblog.com

I get the impression by comparing the number of comments posted now, and a few years ago, that people may be getting tire of Michele Malkin's exaggerated, one-sided style. Of course, there will always be those 'true believers' who will continue to worship her like a god. Again, in this article, she points out the corruption on the Left, without noting the beams in eye of the Right. Oh well, read and believe--if that's your style.
This article identifies a primary difference between Liberals and Conservatives: Liberals base their beliefs upon facts--presented through studies; Conservatives base facts upon beliefs--such as stated in this article. prescienceblog.com
Michael Barone--in the tradition of the ultra-conservative--rewrites American history as though all the Founders were conservatives. The very act of revolution was a progressive act--and believe me, there were plenty of conservatives who wanted to retain the status quo. prescienceblog.com

Another Failed President?

I agree with Pat Buchanan here--but probably not for the same reasons. If we disagree with Obama, where do we go? Back to the Republicans? Perhaps to a 'new' , third party--the Libertarians, which are actually on reactionary Republicans sporting a new name. No, we must continue forward with a new kind of social and economic system--whatever you call it.
