Abortion is primarily a religious issue. But more than that, people do not feel that the government should not spend taxpayers money on abortion, because it is a religious issue—many Christians believe that a thing called a soul enters the body at the time of conception. (If it wasn't for this religious belief, there would be no more opposition to this procedure than chemo-therapy.) But at the same time, many people do not believe in this form of transmigration of a soul.

But, nevertheless, it's not surprising that a large percentage of the population is against the government paying for abortions—in fact it's more surprising that the percentage isn't greater. But, as we can see from the following quote form factcheck.org ,...

The Van Jones Matter

Tad13 Wrote: Sep 11, 2009 10:10 AM
There's one big difference between Van Jones being a 'truther' and holocaust deniers: You don't have any halocaust victims and family members who question whether Hitler was behind it or not. In respect to 9/11, there are family members who question whether there was high level collusion not to take action that would have prevented it. In this respect, Krauthammer's argument is specious.

In effect, Charles Krauthammer uses the argument as a ploy to direct attention to the real reasons Van Jones was forced to resign was a result of his alleged Communistic philosophy and calling Republicans a**holes. These are the issues on which Glenn Beck and other right-wing talkshow hosts focused most their efforts. And...
Now the euthanasia fiction has reached Town Hall. Tell me something: If the government planned to kill senior citizens—as Senator Fox suggested, for example—don't you think we would have seen signs of such plans with Medicare? The Veterans Administration—a government run medical plan—regularly asks their patients if they have a living well (which includes whether or not you want to give them the authorization to make 'end of life' decisions if necessary); and, if not, the V.A. will assist you in making one. This action is much the same as that is suggested by the 'so called Obama bill', and no one claims that the V.A. is trying to kill patient—an there are a lot of older people who use the V.A. In fact, many of your private...

The God Who Bleeds

What a ridiculous bunch of garbage which must be written for religious fanatics—all the 'messiah' talk about 'channeling' for the 'enlightened one' who 'spares the god instead of the rod'. Of course, what else would you expect of someone that writes for a bunch of 'birthers' and people that think that Obama's health care program is out to kill seniors, and who endow him with terms like 'godliness'. Who do you think initiated all this kind of talk. It all this begins with radical conservatives who incessantly read the internet without doing any research to validate the truth-value..

And who is going to do a better job, the conservatives—who can't even get a quorum together to agree on anything except saying 'no' to...
Mr. Krauthammer is a popular writer, and his fans all rave about him. The only thing he writes is just his opinion, and that happens to be wrong.

Still feel that Medicare is a fiscal mistake? Well, here's a fact for all you critics:
“... it (Medicare) is doing so with a better track record of controlling costs (than private insurers). Beginning in 1997, the growth in Medicare’s cost per beneficiary has been slower than (that) delivered by private insurers. Between 2002 and 2006, for example, Medicare’s cost per beneficiary rose 5.4 percent, while per capita costs in private insurance rose 7.7 percent, according to MedPAC, an independent agency charged with advising Congress on Medicare issues. ...

Listening to a Liar

Thomas Sowell, in his article, makes two assertions, and draws two non-sequitur conclusion—I hate to even honor them with the description as 'conclusion', because that term suggests that there has been some attempt at logical deduction (which is not the case here). Although he would like you to think that his conclusions is necessarily true, there are alternative explanations to his.

First, he questions why there is such a rush to get a health insurance bill through, when it won't take effect until 2013. Obviously 'there's some maleficent reason'—like passing it before the public has a change to understand it—which is just what a radical conservative would say, instead the the more rational reasons:

1)Everyone...
Come on! Do you readers find David Limbaugh's assertions like, “his Stalinist nightmare” (referring to the adminstration's fiscal concerns)? If so, I guess you are a 'ditto-head' for the other Limbaugh. He says that President Obama's statements are false, but cites no evidence—typical ultra-conservative method. He harangues us with the threat that, “Health care quality, quantity, choice and cost are all in jeopardy.” He mentions Sally Pipes as a source of information. And that he's going to use excerpts from her book as the topic of future articles—probably because he's run out of material. Good. I can't wait. I need some more talking points to comment about.

Here's an excerpt of mine in a response to a statement made...

All the President's "Guarantees"

Conservatives are quick to point out how many social medical systems in other countries ration medical services. They fail to mention the tool of rationing of medical care in this country: Insurance companies. They do this by denying treatment and insurability. But you don't hear the stories of people going to other countries to get medical treatment because they have been denied it here. Or, how about all the people who have been rationed health care simply because they can't afford it.

The fact of the matter is that you can always find someone who is dissatisfied with the system or with their treatment. You've got to be guided by an accurate analysis of the statistics and your own conscience: Do you care if millions of...

Like most of the commentators--though most would not admit it--I can't vouch for many of his statements about history or policy which Dr. Sowell suggests. But I can say one thing with a high degree of surety: Conservatives are not devoid of there own elitism.

Controlling Children's Minds

Ken Klukowski, in his most recent article says, of the upcoming Obama talk to school children, “Communist and fascist regimes have taken advantage of this for decades, indoctrinating children to become obedient servants to the government, to adore the head of state and to fanatically follow that leader. “ The same can be said of the methods of Christianity.

He makes a big deal of the New Hampshire court decision about placing Brenda Voydatch's home-schooled 10-year-old daughter in a public school. I don't know about the legal circumstances of the case, and have mixed feelings based on the individual's freedom of choice, but I also recognize that the home-schooling movement—as it has morphed in this country—represents an type...
