There are plenyy of big government people on the right - just look at the current GOP leadership. Libertarians are for a government strictly limited to protecting individual rights. Libertarians do not favor no government like anarchists. Anarchists are almost never found on the right. Historically, those on the left have pleaded for more economic controls. Those on the right have pleaded for more social controls. Hitler came along and said "You're both right, let's have total control." Don't forget that "Nazi" is an acronym for National Socialist.

I agree that the extreme positions meet on the dark side of the moon. They crawl out into the light every so often when our leadership's ideas are in sync with theirs.
