Iran isn't a terrorist organization (even if they help fund some), they are a country. Talking to them can't hurt and may provide something useful. A nuclear Iran wouldn't use the bomb. Too many of the people that would be needed to build/launch a weapon have families they know will die as a result of the counter strike. And nuclear bombs can be traced to the nuclear facilities where they were built based on the makeup of the isotopes in it.
