James you asked about a better forum for discussion. If anyone is familiar with IRC I could set up a channel, it's a little complicated but not too bad and is the best way to do it. Basically you just need an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client, something like mIRC, and you can just create a channel where anyone can join and one of the regulars could be an administrator.

Yes I am familiar with it. We use it for vessel coordinations over wifi where I work.

You would need to get enough people interested since it is not a open forum.

Good Idea if you want good debate.

Ideally there would simply be a chat function on townhall, I'm really suprised they haven't implemented one given how active these forums are.

But I also like the open forum here.

Its not bad, I don't like how you have to refresh to view new comments though an automatic update would be nice.

But you're way to the far FAR right.

True enough.

There are alternatives at other sites. But a place for open debate with a neutral moderator would be nice.

PMA what are you talking about. Do you really believe that people can be put simply on a right or left scale.

Wake up!

"But you're way to the far FAR right."

Compared to who? Your hero Josef Stalin?

Since most of the data in post-election polling has offered little beyond a parade of ugly news, here's a glimmer of hope from Gallup:

For the first time in Gallup trends since 2000, a majority of Americans say it is not the federal government's responsibility to make sure all Americans have healthcare coverage. Prior to 2009, a majority always felt the government should ensure healthcare coverage for all, though Americans' views have become more divided in recent years...Republicans, including Republican-leaning independents, are mostly responsible for the drop since 2007 in Americans' support for government...
