Romney hasn't been silent about school in general, which I think would include the lunch program. He has said quite often that control of schools belongs with parents and teachers, not bureaucrats in Washington and certainly NOT with the teacher's unions. I don't understand why no one makes the connection between failing schools and the changes that have taken place over the last many decades. The more control is given to the "educrats", the worse the outcomes. Return education to the local level, and put the parents and teachers in charge. Then equalize the school funding throughout the state so every school gets the same $$ per student served.

Congressional Republicans are taking action against Michelle Obama’s school lunch menu, which was implemented by the USDA in August.

The modifications to the standards have left students hungry and dissatisfied with their lunch options, according to reports conducted throughout the nation. has reported about students protesting, a cafeteria employee saying she and her colleagues are barred from serving seconds and forced to throw away extra food, and the National Education Association stating schools should use tactics to “creatively engage and educate students” on the new requirements.
