White Liberals Tell Black Lies about Civil Rights

Remember, the original Gun Control Laws were created by Democrats seeking to protect the Democrat supported KKK Night Riders. Black Freedmen (Republicans!) were shooting back at the KKK when they tried to beat, rape, hang, and burn the newly freed slaves families in their homes in the middle of the night. The Democrats created gun control laws to get firearms out of the hands of blacks, to give the KKK greater freedom and safety for their dispicable work.

This is true, I mean it doesn't have any relation with current political realities... but it's true. Of course the NRA also used to be compromised of individuals that wanted sensible gun control and helped pass some of the most sweeping gun regulations the country has ever seen. Then there was a internal revolt and it became the institution we know today.

it has everything to do with current political realities, think about it , REAL HARD

Sorry but you are so wrong. The current political realities is what it is all about.

People like you how have never been a member make these unsubstantiated claims about how the NRA has changed, just because they don't support your definition of "common sense." Common sense would be not trying to pass the Clinton "Assault Weapons ban" that was proven to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to curb crime, stop violence, or prevent "mass shootings" but threaten peoples civil rights.

The NRA has always supported truly common sense laws including harsher penalties for those who break the law, and uniform enforcement of the laws on the books (no special treatment for leftwing newsies).

Thank you, Amilam, for illustrating for us just how the process works under the "current political realities" - first one tries to work with the Left to implement changes in a situation, e.g., Civil Rights or Gun Rights; then one finds that the Left has gone considerably beyond the point of common ground (or common sense), so one draws a line in the sane; then one finds that he is demonized as having become a radical. This is why the Right has declined to participate in finding "solutions" to such current Lefty "issues" as MMGW.

Liberals ignored my book Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama throughout the fall. Now that I'm safely home from my book tour, they feel free to jabber on about their make-believe history of the civil rights movement with abandon.

In the hackiest of all hacky articles, Sam Tanenhaus, the man responsible for ruining The New York Times Book Review, has written a cover story in The New Republic, titled: "Original Sin: Why the GOP is and will continue to be the party of white people."
