Yesterday a librat that I see from time to time was telling some of us gun owners that guns of all kinds should be outlawed. I told him that I among others had never seen a gun, loaded or not run down the street and jump in someone's hand, or as another put it, he had never seen a gun unlock a case, load itself and jump into someone's hand and say, "go shoot someone". Guns are inanimate objects like knives, axes, clubs, brass knucks, and any other object that can become a weapon. So, the librat did not digest those facts too well and walked off mumbling to himself.

Must every tragic mass shooting bring out the shrill ignorance of "gun control" advocates?

The key fallacy of so-called gun control laws is that such laws do not in fact control guns. They simply disarm law-abiding citizens, while people bent on violence find firearms readily available.

If gun control zealots had any respect for facts, they would have discovered this long ago, because there have been too many factual studies over the years to leave any serious doubt about gun control laws being not merely futile but counterproductive.
