Oh Walt, no matter how much you try, White America will never, ever love you. They will never respect your cultural heritage that you so readily ignore; they will never give credence to the fact that racism is deeply ingrained in the practices and ideologies of the West; nor will they ever admit the legacies of Jim Crow and segregationist policies that kept Blacks OUT of the political, economic, and educational facets of American life. Racism is not about who hates who, but is about systemic realities that people of color face. Sure there many people who have escaped, but at what cost? From personal experience, when one enters into the dominant mainstreamed American culture, it comes with great costs; personal, political and cultural.
