If anything, Santorum is the candidate most like Obama: lawyer, politician, ideologue, no executive experience, no expertise in economics or business. Romney has executive experience, is not an ideologue, and knows how to turn losses into profits, deficits into surpluses; he has actually done it.

BREAKING: Romney Takes Illinois

So if the sulking social conservatives stay home, the election will go to Obama and he will load up the Supreme Court with more liberals and we will be in much more trouble than if Romney were to be elected. Voting third party cannot work until the election system is changed to have a runoff unless one candidate gets more than 50% of the votes. Vote third party or stay home is a vote for Obama, socialism, liberal majority on the Court -- an irrational option.
Welcome to the United States of Venezuela-Norte and President Obama-Chavez. What is happening here is what happened to Venezuela when Hugo Chavez became president several years ago and proceeded to shut down media outlets that did not agree with him and confiscated private property. Opinions opposed to Barack Obama are under more and more vicious attacks every day, and this is only one of the many problems of this administration trampling on our traditional American values and laws.
The disease of denial, rationalization, self-delusion. I'm not a psychiatrist, just an ex-wife of a pathological liar and I finally realized that for these people the truth just doesn't fit their lives or agenda so they deny it, make up their own reality and convince themselves their version is the truth. My ex-husband actually said to me; "if you would believe my lies, we could be happy". He really couldn't see my problem with that statement, hence the divorce. The disaster is that there are so many naive, uninformed people sucked in by these people (i.e., my ex is on his third wife).
I think it is disgusting in this country to vow to never vote for Romney because he is a Mormon; this is religious bigotry and a very unattractive attribute of evangelical Christians. And by the way, a lot of people consider evangelicals to be cult-like. However, evangelicals might consider being a bit worried about another 4 years of Obama, unless pastors don't mind performing same-sex marriages, religious hospitals don't mind performing abortions and churches don't mind providing adoption to gay couples -- because that is what Obama and democrats have in mind if churches want to retain their tax exempt status. It's not the Mormons who plan to blackmail churches with this stuff.

Breaking Down the Iowa Results

Santorum is a very nice man; not sure if he's a pure conservative due to some of his votes in Congress; sounds like he also put his finger into the wind and voted accordingly in some instances but the big point is: he does not have the background to run the behemoth that is the federal government: no executive experience. Qualifications have to matter and the only qualified candidates are Romney, Perry and Huntsman with their governships -- Romney is best with private sector specializing in successfully turning around failing entities. Qualifications and experience please.

LIVE OPEN THREAD: The Iowa Caucuses

Susan973 Wrote: Jan 03, 2012 11:01 PM
Looks like a victory for Mitt Romney to me; his more serious competition, Gingrich and Perry, are way down in the totals and the two candidates who will never become the nominee are neck and neck with Mitt. Just shows that nearly half of the caucus voters in Iowa have no clue nor care about the national picture: making Obama a one-term president.
Santorum does not have the qualifications nor experience to turn around the failing institution that is the U.S. government; haven't we learned from the disaster that is the current president that qualifications and experience matter. And Santorum will not bring in independents. Mitt Romney is the only candidate who can meet the challenge, beat Obama, and by the way, he is also on our side in conservative issues.
Finally - someone getting this story out. Here in California they destroy the breadbasket of the country to "protect" a 2-inch bait fish which I believe ends up dumping out into the ocean and dying in the salt water anyway -- 40,000+ jobs lost in agriculture -- but they could care less about the magnificent eagles. No solar projects can go forward due to a bat fly that lives for one month a year and some dumb lizard. Oil leaks up out of the ocean and spills onto the beaches naturally; not allowed to drill but okay to squander a valuable natural resource. We are pretty conservative in San Diego County and in the inland counties (McCain, Whitman and Fiorina won in San Diego County), but we are stuck with the stupid fools in Los...
You are an idiot.
