Liberal Obsession With Race is Growing Old

So long as there is diversity there will be strife. Especially when some groups have far different earnings power and criminality. Goldberg urges people to just 'get over it' then in the next breath agitates for massive 3rd World immigration. Tragicomedy at its worst. Never forget Jonah got his start in punditry as a reward for his mother's role in the Monica Lewinsky scandal, certainly not for his insights or word-smithing.

So I bought his book because of his mother? Who is she?

"Groups" do not have "earning power" or "criminality".

Individual people earn or do not earn, become criminal or remain honest.

This may rank as one of the most idiotic attempts at an analogy I've ever heard.

Nobody chooses whether to be 5' 7" or 6' 2". Nobody decides whether or not to have breast cancer. Income and criminality are mostly determined by conscious choices and behavior.

Apparently Tiger Woods and Jamie Foxx shouldn't be filthy rich because they come from groups with lower "earnings power."

**Apparently Tiger Woods and Jamie Foxx shouldn't be filthy rich because they come from groups with lower "earnings power."**

Accused of idiocy by a guy who doesn't know what an average is. That's rich.

There is no difference between analyzing for statistically different rates of cancer or criminality. We either have enough evidence to say the groups are indeed different or aren't. Correlation is either strong or weak.

Being that earnings power is highly correlated with intelligence and no one chooses his intelligence we can say people don't have complete choice of their earnings.

Denial will not change reality.

Individual people are each personally responsible for their choices and actions.

And yes, only individual people have heights. Only individual people have cancer.

Statistics and averages are not responsible for any individual's personal characteristics -- either physical or moral.

**And yes, only individual people have heights. Only individual people have cancer.**

Therefore, all men should receive a yearly mammogram and the NBA sued for bias against women.

**Statistics and averages are not responsible for any individual's personal characteristics**

Very true: statistics merely describe reality, they do not cause it.

Yeah, I understand averages. I understand that women are, on average, more likely to develop breast cancer. I also understand that blacks and hispanics, on average, have lower incomes than whites or Asians.

What I am having trouble discovering amidst your ramblings is what they call a "point."

Is your point that they are innately intellectually inferior? Is it that they are victims of a racist society that is stacked against them?

I was also straining to discover how Goldberg's mother's role in the Lewinsky affair has any relevance to the arguments presented, but why bother?
Surtr Wrote: Dec 21, 2012 11:21 AM
**Yeah, I understand averages.**

It's obvious that you don't. Otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned Jamie Fox or Tiger Woods to counter the fact of low Black income.

**What I am having trouble discovering amidst your ramblings is what they call a "point."**

Not only do you not understand averages, you have poor reading comprehension.

**I was also straining to discover how Goldberg's mother's role in the Lewinsky affair has any relevance to the arguments presented**

The story of Jonah's rise to professional pundit was just to tell people how such a talentless hack rose to fame, not to explain why diversity causes strife. Had his mommy not been a large part of the Lewinsky / perjury scandal he would not have made it on merit.

Sutr-Podner-with your permission I'm gonna save your 11:21 "offering as an example of "How NOT to write a rebuttal". I'd call that response a "Whiners' Primer" SHEESH

When will liberals stop living in the past? Specifically, when will they accept that they aren't all that stands between a wonderful, tolerant America and Jim Crow?

I was in the room when, during the Democratic convention, civil rights hero John Lewis suggested that Republicans wanted to "go back" to the days when black men like him could be beaten in the street by the enforcers of Jim Crow. I thought it an outrageous and disgusting bit of demagoguery. The audience of Democratic delegates cheered in a riot of self-congratulation.

It's bizarre. I spend most of my time talking...
