At the very least, war is justified when necessary to protect one's home. If the raiders swoop in from the desert, they're not coming to borrow your plow. You have to fight them off.

And when the war is fought to prevent world domination by a monster like Stalin or Hitler, it is fought BECAUSE every life is a gift from God.
