Global warming is scarier to people who are not going to be able to move when the water levels start rising. Fear mongering is used by many groups in order to get their issues noticed, but I don't think that scientists have that agenda, in general. They just report their findings and let politicians bicker about what they mean.

All of their warnings come from their models. Their models predict what they put in, but alas, as time passes they have failed to predict anything accurately. Biological systems, weather systems, human systems, i.e. culture politics, economics are complex systems. We can identify after the fact a few large variables, but we cannot predict them, and there is no mathematics that will ever be able to do so. Hence the scientific community that warns us of global warming are not being honest about what they know nor what can be known, all they can do is alert us to their own fears which by definition are in their heads.

You evidently haven't been watching how things have gone in the scientific community lately. There are thousands of scientists who do not accept the computer modeling on which these doom-and-gloom projections are based. But any article that controverts the party line can't get into the journals; professors who speak against it are pushed into retirement if they're old, or denied tenure if they're young. There are hundreds of millions of dollars in grant money that depends on keeping the hysteria going.

And "bickering"? You mean disagreement? Unless you prefer North Korea, be glad our politicians "bicker". The day only one view is permitted is the day that we live in a Stalinist state.

Here’s my challenge to all the global warming apologists:

Explain to me why the “settled science” of global warming has to manipulate headlines to make information appear scarier and more threatening than the actual data shows.

If global warming is so settled, why do you and your friends take the opportunity to exaggerate, obfuscate and slant every piece of news that comes out to make it seem relevant to today?
