So Fake It’s Real: Global Warming is Reality TV for the Media Elite

Well written John. I'll also add that during all of this "terrible global warming", that yields have increased from the low 100's per acre to mid 150's. Warming hasn't seemed to hurt the yield side. The decade of the 90's saw average production of 8.4B bushels with essentially zero use in ethanol. Now we're producing in the 13 - 14 billion bushel area and putting 5 Billion bushels into gas tanks. Good or bad, the volatility is ethanol driven. It should also be noted that these additional corn acres are coming at the expense of alternative crop acres; reducing those supplies and thus driving up those prices.

Corn is also very harsh on the nutrients in the soil. Fertilizer, on a large scale is necessary to continue to maintain high crop yields. These fertilizers wash down the Mississippi and out into the Gulf of Mexico where they create the Dead Zone which grows to the size of New England in the summer months.

Here’s my challenge to all the global warming apologists:

Explain to me why the “settled science” of global warming has to manipulate headlines to make information appear scarier and more threatening than the actual data shows. If global warming is so settled, why do you and your friends take the opportunity to exaggerate, obfuscate and slant every piece of news that comes out to make it seem relevant to today?

You can see an example of this in the headlines below:

Climate Change Main Contributor to Corn Volatility, Study Says” writes Bloomberg-BusinessWeek. “
