My brother is working at a site that will provide some of the infrastructure supporting this project. There are so many restrictions and mandates because of "concern" for the environment and cultural artifacts, and, and, and.... that in one recent instance there were 11 monitors watching one guy operate a bulldozer. That'll sure save us a lot of money.

I recently waited weeks for cancer treatment because of insurance company review and doctor to doctor consultation with "their" specialist. My doctor, a radiation oncologist, told me that when he finally was able to talk with the insurance doctor he learned that their doctor had NO knowledge of the proposed treatment and protocols. His expertise was chemotherapy. It was a disturbing glimpse of the future; treatment time was wasted for no purpose other than a check box.

I gave up on pro football after their strike. I gave up on major league baseball after their strike. This from someone who has attended both the world series and the super bowl in the past. I can't care if they don't and the important things in life are unaffected. Pro basketball? Easy answer.

My mother told me that all the business courses I took were training. The other non-essential courses, many just for ged credits, were education. Nothing in the 30 years since then has proved her wrong.

What's amazing to me is that more people didn't figure out where California was headed years ago. We looked at how elections were going, how the state was spending money, and the (then excellent) state of the housing market five years ago and decided it was time to go. After 30 years in the California the I only thing I miss is the weather.
If I expected a president even worse that we have, for example I expected a lot more dead people by now, then I would have to say the president has done better than expected. A set up question, defining expectations would have been nice.

Over shadowed in all the hullabaloo about breast cancer screenings is the recommendation that prostate cancer screening also be delayed. Those men who are not diagnosed as a result will be just as dead as women with breast cancer.

Missed in all this uproar are similar recommendations for prostate cancer a week earlier. The deaths will be just as final but the outcry was not there.
