Great: Obama on Taxpayer-Funded Campaign Swing to Court College Voters

Wasn't it the democrat-controlled Congress in 2007 that set the current college loan rates to expire in the middle of a presidential campaign and double the rate? And, Barack is going around moaning to college students about college costs increasing so much. Shouldn't he be jawboning on college presidents and trustees about that, rather than community organizing students to get angry at Congress?

Stormy:
Student loan rates have been set to expire on June 30 for years. There was no change to the date that I am aware of.

The trip is billed as an official one, paid for by taxpayers. But the Obama campaign is also capitalizing on the trip, touting the president's student-loan message and drawing contrasts with Mitt Romney. The cross-pollenization between the president's official duties and his campaigning for reelection already has drawn sharp rebukes from Republicans....
