The reason we will see Obama land slided is simple - he has angered major people groups such as: Business owners Gun Owners Traditional Christian groups Blacks (because he's not helping them enough) Gays (see Blacks) Elderly (who pay attention) Pro Israeli groups Farmers Home schoolers Veterans (active and retired) People who are paying taxes And the largest group - People who buy gas We vote as individuals for individual reasons, but when you find yourself in one or more of these groups, you'll see why many Americans will vote Obama out of office as if he were Jimmy Carter reincarnated. Please feel free to add your group (but be nice) Romney 54% (57% if Lt Col West is his running mate) Obama 44%

Farmers: its another situation where Obama will give them things to vote for him, as a conservative I am not for giving them any aid so I am hoping my reps do not pander to them
Home schoolers: agreed, they probably don't care for him
veterans: i don't see how they like either side, no one helps our veterans enough, but I am sure Romney will pick up most of them
people paying taxes: ?? really people paying taxes should be mad at the govt.? not sure about that, paying taxes to live in the greatest country in the history of human civilization is not a bad deal, yea they can be lower, but i am not mad about it
gas: goes up and down, the president doesn't really determine this, some of his actions may influence it but its not his fault

I think you are overestimating the people he has angered:

Business owners: yes they are angry at him
Gun Owners: they might be angry, it just depends what he does with the political aspects of what just happened, but I am pretty sure at the end they will be angry.
Blacks: like him or not a majority will vote for him
gays: love him
elderly: its a gray area, he will offer social programs for them, I personally against any social programs so I would be more for cutting them off completely.....
Pro israel groups: that is a handful, and I am pretty sure a majority of the Jews will support him just because he is a liberal

I would add to farmers... most rural and smalltown voters who feel condescended to by The Teleprompter's wannabe intellectual wussy big city supporters.

I would also add to your list red-blooded American males who are tired of being mocked and
made fun of by big city wussies.

By now, many of you can probably recite my near-weekly presidential polling sample admonition by heart.  For the uninitiated, I'm often skeptical of 2012 presidential polls that rely on partisan sample breakdowns that skew heavily toward Democrats.  For instance, the NYT/CBS and NPR polls I broke down last week featured D+6.5 and D+7, respectively.  The argument I frequently employ is that 2008's wave election -- a multi-decade high point for Democrats -- produced a D+7 electorate, according to the final exit polls.  Barack Obama won that election by 6.5 percentage points.  In 2010's midterms, the final exit polls showed...
