"Progressive" and "Liberal" are euphemisms for left wing politics or statism. There is no progress or liberty in statism, it is the default form of government from biblical times through modern communism and fascism. It has often been stated that we live in a mixed economy; part free market, part socialist. In fact the mix is more fascist/socialist with more and more centralized government control of privately owned business through mandates. Now mandates (the Ming Dynasty called them “Heavenly Mandates”) are beginning to be used against private citizens. King George III would get a good laugh, what is the difference between a mandate and a King’s Edict?

For too long, conservatives have been content to sit on what we call the high ground while the Left racks up small victory after small victory until all we have left is the high ground under our butts. Enough.
