Academic Malpractice Part 818

The intellectual supremacists (left wing professors) do not really believe in a gun-free society, only that civilians are disarmed. It is absolutely necessary that the government have at its disposal the threat of violence in order to implement the coercive redistribution policies so central to the left wing ideology. The gun is the primary instrument of government enforcement, it is really the only difference between say United Way and the Health and Human Services administration. The former has no guns.
The problem is the Democrats simply find so called “experts” to testify that raising the capital gains tax does not reduce business investment. It then becomes a “he says…she says”. If the people elect Democrats, they will always find a justification for raising taxes on the upper income earners no matter how convincing the Wall Street Journal article is. I am afraid the future prosperity of the country hinges on Mitt Romney’s ability to convince the voters that leaving money in the hands of the people will produce better outcomes for them than government confiscating it and using it buy them stuff. He is not doing a very good job so far!

The unions were probably the single biggest impediment to the advancement of African-Americans prior to the 1960s. It was the unions that banned black workers or limited how high they could rise. Ever heard of the Scalers Union, it was the black union at certain shipyards for the lowest level jobs. Most immigrants who arrived poor worked their way up through the union trades, with some going on to start their own companies. The unions effectively blocked that path for blacks.

With regard to employment there is a double whammy taking place. 1) Anti-business policies discourage investment in expansion and new ventures resulting in poor job creation. 2) Increased employee benefits mandated by this administration such as Obamacare, destructive union harassment (e.g. new Boeing plant), and the expansion of the employee grievance tort industry have made employees toxic to employers. Note that the most successful company today, Apple, does its high labor operations (manufacturing) overseas. I marvel at the number of voters who keep voting for the winding down of industry who then complain about the lack of jobs or the decline of the middle class. You silly people voted for it, that is what the Democrats stand...

Classic confusion between money and prosperity. Simply printing more money does not create prosperity! If that were true then Zimbabwe would be a prosperous country. Any average or above in intelligence child can figure this out (unless her teacher brain washed her first)..

Obama and his Watermelons (green on the outside, red on the inside) do not care about the pain his policies cause. The people suffering are the “eggs broken to make the omelet”, to paraphrase Stalin. Left wing ideology accepts large numbers of casualties in the “progressive” march to collectivist utopia. After the collapse of the USSR and the realization that socialism/communism can not create prosperity for its people, the far left was chased into the dark corners of the academia and fringe publications. Then along came the global warming alarmists! What a perfect match: it is PROSPERITY itself that is the enemy, something the leftists are adept at destroying. The goal is the destruction of the middle class with their SUVs and McMansio

When Jonah Goldberg wrote his book ”Liberal Fascism” back in Jan 2008, he probably never dreamed that it would become an instruction manual for the Obama administration (with credit to National Review). It was always obvious to any clear thinking individual that if fascism over came to America, it would come from the LEFT! We conservatives and libertarians believe in a limited powers government while the left has never articulated any constraints at all on how big and intrusive the government should be. The bigger the better is all we hear. Call me a cynic but I believe the Fed has one and only one mission: to keep the interest rates on Treasuries low! If there is a secondary boost to the economy, all the better, but the real purpose is to keep the debt bubble inflated so the spending spree can role on. Think about it, at $16 trillion in debt, a 1% increase in net interest to the Treasury results in a $160 billion increase in spending on debt service alone. Now imagine the interest rates returning to normal historic levels, or even worse to late 1970s double digit rates! Do not believe anything any official or spokesperson of the government says. The worse things get the more they will lie to the public.

They remove energy and food from the CPI, are you kidding me?
Orginized Patronage; the modern version of Tammany Hall corruption, but on a large scale
Far from trying to prevent further recession, Obama and his ilk welcome another recession, even depression. The more demoralized the people are the easier it is to expand the government and push his class warfare. Think FDR and the Great Depression, the New Dealers had a field day experimenting with all manner of government intrusions. What is going to be interesting is when both the economy crashes putting 10s of millions more people on welfare and the government debt bubble pops denying the ability to fund all this through ever more borrowing. Will the government go into essentially a cannibalization mode, gutting the private sector to keep the welfare transfers rolling?
