Faith Crucial to Life and State

“Faith” designates blind acceptance of a certain thoughts and values-- an acceptance induced by feeling in the absence of evidence or proof. "Religion" designates the feeling that the purpose of life is to become a zombie who serves a purpose he does not know (i.e., "God's Word"), for reasons he is not to question (i.e., "God's Will"). Neither is healthy.
The idiotic notion of "same-sex marriage" simply ignores the facts about where children come from. Why are people being so blind about this?

Faith was meant to short-circuit cognition -- and it certainly does do that. The problem is that is not a job that should be done.

If Americans don't want freedom, but prefer socialism/fascism, then we probably will not be able to keep the republic the Founders established.

"Trust but verify" is a good principle. Faith can't handle the job.

A positive attitude toward life can be perfectly reasonable. Relying on FAITH to deal with life is a method of short-circuiting yourself.

"Religious Faith" is the methodology of believing in things that cannot possibly be true.

So you cannot have real faith and be religious at the same time?

Blind, i.e., religious, faith is a hindrance to success (both individually and socially), not a help. You cannot deal with reality, if you don't look at reality but rather cover your eyes with faith instead.

Not even a majority (or supermajority) can vote to change reality. Wishing and/or voting won't make it so. Even a unanimous vote that the law of supply and demand should be repealed, for instance, would not make reality magically change.
