Political Fables

Regardless of who owns the blame, the current administration seems to have little idea of the course to recovery. It continues to sell the country on ideas like "Recovery Summer," making promises that cannot be kept, even in the short term. There seems to be only one solution from this administration - spend more money. Unfortunately, trusting the future to "hope" is not a good excuse for profligate spending with very little focus. Sowell has it right when he points out that this administration is protecting the very institutions that need "change," Fannie and Freddie.

Oil's Expanding Frontiers

Yep, we'll have oil and its ancillary products for years to come, but much of the media, the White House, and most of the Congressional leadership believe otherwise. That's because creating a shortage is better politics than creating jobs.

Same thing with health care. We've allowed our politicians to paint the picture much worse than it is... Rather than find the problem areas and work on them, they make things sound terrible, then replace the entire system.

Some day we'll wise up and realize that the boring politicians do a much better job than the ones with the big smiles and loud mouths.
