How to Stifle Speech

Fear is the only reason why there is a catering to islam. Islamists are willing to kill you for their interpretation of offending their culture, religion or rules of Sharia. They are nothing more than a large tribe of barbaric savages driven by simple-minded dogma. They are incompatible with civilized society.

To stand up for our freedoms, we all must ignore their pitiful, selfish demands that they be accommodated. Their presence in a civilized country can not be tolerated. They are deadly enemies of all who don't believe in their islam, and no laws, or rules of human decency, can alter their zealous, murderous behavior.

They are the scourge of mankind.

The government workers are not overpaid. The sad truth is that they are only paid a livable, constant wage not only throughout their working career, but into their retirement. There is no way out of their humdrum existence. They have no hope to improve their financial situation. It's a cradle to grave mentality.

On the other hand, those who endeavor in the private sector with focus, hard work, education and dedication, can make unlimited incomes and create financial security and opportunity for themselves, their families and the thousands of employees they hire.

In my opinion, most government workers are on a form of welfare, only society benefits in a small way from the services they perform, their taxes and the...

Why "Merry Christmas" Matters to America

You spent a great deal of energy responding to a self-absorbed post that means nothing to anyone. Since you could only name call and resort to meaningless reference to your religious beliefs, I can't take your post seriously. Have a nice Xmas.

Your thoughts on this are valid. The birth of someone as historically important as Jesus is worth celebrating. My point is that both Xmas and Easter have no religious meaning to me. I recognize Xmas as a fun time dealing with Santa Claus and Easter is when the bunny comes with eggs and candy. Thanks for the info. Merry Xmas and happy New Year to you.

Same goes for sexual proclivity, display and behavior? What has this got to do with "Merry Christmas?"

Seems to me you might be the one who should take the class. Isn't your suggestion as condescending as you imply my post to be? I don't mean to be condescending and I'm sorry you took it that way. I could make the claim that those of religious persuasion are as condescending as well, but I respect their beliefs too much. I just don't agree with them.

Have a merry xmas.

I don't know why you are so "really puzzled" by what religious holidays are celebrated by non-believers. Perhaps curious is a better word for your dilemma.

Atheists celebrate whatever holiday they want. December 25th is probably spent with the family, relaxing and eating, and enjoying the new gifts. I think you would agree that Christmas is celebrated by most people in this country. As I, non-believers or atheists, enjoy the fables of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Little Red Riding Hood. Christmas is a day to celebrate Santa, Rudolph and the sleigh full of gifts. I totally reject the existence of deities. No holiday, in my mind, has any religious meaning at all.

I'm not going to explain to you why the winter solstice...

I am an theist and find that celebrating Xmas is fun and is based on the fantasy of a Santa Claus. My family has always enjoyed the tree, lights, gifts, hanging out together, and the excitement of Xmas morning after Santa Claus has left the gifts. It's almost like a vacation. It's no different than Easter with the Easter Bunny. It's a fun time and has no religious significance to me at all. Both of these holiday festivals are based on the equinox and the solstice and have roots in primitive mans' ignorant superstitions and fears. Regardless of their origin, they are great fun.

I have complete understanding and sympathy for those hooked on religions. I recognize the comfort and structure it provides believers. I don't condemn...
