In response to:

How Mitt Romney Won My Vote

Right. And Obama called it unpatriotic. I am voting for Romney without being a particular fan, but if a tag line from a debate gets your vote, you are not the deep thinker you profess to be. In fact, "sitting out" thus helping Obama, speaks volumes. My judgment will be reserved for when he is in office. I am still waiting for the Warren Harding of today, who went into his first cabinet meeting and told his entire cabinet that he wanted an across the board 25% reduction in the size of their departments the first year, and another 25% the next year. And he got it.

The Republican Party is now the party of Hoover. Lots of rhetoric supporting free markets, but at the end of the day they'll always vote for the government to save capitalism.

Back in May of 1999, I made a decision to leave the Democratic Party. It was an easy decision. I had been a Democrat for 11 years. I voted for Dukakis when I was a committed leftist. But, later, when I became a pro-life conservative, there was no room for me in the party. So I became a Republican and also joined the NRA. I've been a straight shooter ever since. Excuse me if that last line sounded heterosexist. I’m a work in regress....
