Take the issue of homosexuality, like most social issues it will eventually drill down to freedom and economic freedom. It used to outlawed (for good or ill), now mostly not, but now with the redefining of marriage and the active indoctrination of our children and the nation, it will soon be used as a cudgel to suppress freedom. In California they passed a law that said psychologist cannot treat teenagers for homosexuality. Whether you agree or not, that is an act of government using a controversial social issue to stop an economic activity, and what if they pass a law that says you need to post signage and have materials to show that your business is homosexual "friendly"?
