I continue to be amazed that one of the broadcast networks has not co-opted the Fox News model. After all, what medium is more copy-cat than TV? And what news source has grown more than Fox? Obviously, to those making decisions, profit is not their primary motivating factor. I wonder how long shareholders will put up with that state of affairs?

Ever notice that the crowd who says, "There are jobs Americans just won't do" are the same ones who insist that those of us who do have jobs pay for those folks to not work?
Doc, you should heed your own advise.
rac·ism [rey-siz-uhm] noun 1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. 2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination. 3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races. Uh, not seeing the word "white" in there, Chris.
When Jimmy Carter (whom I thought was a white Southerner, like me) gutted the military and encouraged enemies to actions such as sacking our embassy, I opposed him. When Bill Clinton (whom I thought was a white Southerner, like me) tried to hijack the healthcare system, I opposed him. When Al Gore (whom I thought was a white Southerner, like me) proposed derailing the US economy in response to a global warming threat which is clearly over-hyped, I opposed him. When John Edwards (whom I thought was a white Southerner, like me) proposed income redistribution in his "two Americas" speeches, I opposed him. Either all these guys are really black, or Chris Matthews is full of it..

Boehner and McConnell need to invite Dr. Carson over to teach Republicans in Congress how to communicate. He is masterful in his simplicity and his appeal while they fall all over themselves in apology while explaining superior policies.

"Some people seem to think that glib and shallow political correctness becomes Deep Stuff when it comes from a TV commentator with a foreign accent." I had the misfortune of being assigned a team MBA project with a British ex-pat here in the states; the guy was dumb as a brick, but clearly he had become accustomed to Americans deferring to him - I would suggest - solely on the basis of his accent. It was a long semester!
It wasTakeshi Uchiyamada, head of Toyota R&D, acknowledged "father of the Prius," who said that.
As usual, Fred Flintstone was way ahead of his time.
