How Liberals Argue: Hamas Has a Right to Exist

The facts relative to Israel have always been: If the terrorist stop trying to kill Israelis there is peace. If Israel stops defending herself - we will have another Jewish genocide at the hands of terrorists. And the US intercedes to keep Israel from dealing with the issue again... I'm not so sure Obama's foreign policy isn't causing more problems than it is solving..

Stan,

What about when those things happen, meaning there is relative peace and Israel is defending herself with an iron fist-- the area still has a fundamental problem, and it is the treatment of those resettled in the Gaza strip, the military occupation of their borders by Israel in the name of "security," and fundamental economic deprivation that has resulted.

With a 30% or higher unemployment rate, there is no wonder that those in Gaza do not look kindly on their military occupiers. So it is more than relevant to Israel's security that they craft a policy that enables Gaza to represent its interests effectively and grants them at least some political power and state sovereignty with respect to other nations.

All they have to do in Gaza is renounce to war on Israel and recognize Israel's right to exist. The world would flood them with relief. And it wasn't that long ago that gaza was essentially part of Israel. They ceded that land to the Palestineans. They're reward is more terrorism.

But that's the point of the entire conflict from the Palestinian's perspective. Any land "ceded' to them by Israel in peace treaties hasn't been worth the paper the treaty was printed on. The land in the West Bank supposedly given up by Israel is still being used to this very day for Israeli settlements, and construction continues. In Gaza, that "territory" is still heavily isolated by the Israeli military, which continues to inflame the conflict.

Until Israel actually gives up power over the Palestinians, and they have a sense of sovereignty and political power, anything "ceded" by Israel is a joke.

Really simple. Even a liberal should be able to understand.

Last night on Hannity, I debated President of the America Together Foundation Michael Ghouse on the crisis between Israel and Hamas. At one point in the segment, Ghouse argued Hamas, a terrorist organization, has a right to exist.

Today, Israel dropped a message in Gaza warning civilians about an imminent strike and urged them to temporarily evacuate their homes.

To the residents of Sheikh Ijleen, Tal al Hawa, Remal al-Janoub, Zeitoun neighbourhood, Shoujaiyat al-Tourkman, Shoujaiyat al-Jadida:

The Israeli military is not targeting...
