Several people who I have worked with and typically express views that would put them clearly in the conservative camp - told me this morning that they voted for Obama because they couldn't stomach Romney. You can dismiss this any way you want to - but by the end of the day I had talked to many people I used to think were conservatives who elected a republican governor in their state and voted for Obama because they didn't like Romney. Ann can call it what she wants and I, like her, supported Romney. But he didn't carry the base of the conservatives and Obama did carry the base of the liberals. The GOP had better figure this out or the liberals are going to be so entrenched that you will never get them out of control of the government

The fact is, the numbers show that neither turned out his base very well.

We spent billions of dollars and billions of words on an election to switch from President Obama, a Democratic Senate and a Republican House to President Obama, a Democratic Senate and a Republican House.

Every election predictor was wrong, except one: Incumbents usually win.

Republicans have taken out a sitting president only once in the last century, and that was in 1980 when Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter. Sadly, Reagan's record remains secure.
