I am not surprised at all. Jesus indeed said the world would hate him. He told us (his followers) to take heart if the world hated us, because the world hated him first. Funny how so many things in the Bible play out everyday, and so many people are too dense or unwilling to see them.

And how about Fox News hating on Wiccans and Pagans the last few days? How is their behavior any different than those you are complaining about? Nobody should disparage any religion they don't believe in. As long as people aren't trying to make public policy out of private religious beliefs, everyone should be able to practice their faith (or non-faith) as they please.

I pondered that question over the weekend as I sat on my couch and watched Saturday Night Live blaspheme Jesus Christ in a violent and bloody Quentin Tarantino parody – just three days after Ash Wednesday.

The fake movie trailer for “Djesus Uncrossed” featured the Savior brandishing guns and blowing away Romans in classic Tarantino-style. Blood and gore and profanity spewed from flat screens from coast to coast – at one point Jesus sliced a man’s head in half.
