I appreciate this article so much! We don't know how much we are blessed until we lose it. I don't want to lose Walmart ever. Can things be made better? Of course! But we are all better off since they came!

I do own a business and I think Walmart is one of the greatest helps to people on a fixed income, single parents, people who just don't have the money to shop at Macys or Dillards, or get their groceries at Safeway.

But how can you get the peasants to revolt if you allow them to live comfortably with things almost as nice as Their Betters have? The big step forward the Industrial Revolution provided began with mass-produced china that was available to the peasants. Did you know there was a time not so long ago when poor people didnt have DISHES?

Who cares? I do all of my shopping at Wal-Mart now. I am fortunate enough to have a Super Wal-Mart in my area that sells grocery in addition to general merchandise. In my state, grocery stores are among the most heavily unionized retailers and the unions fought tooth and nail to keep Wal-Mart out of the grocery business here and lost. It's not just Wal-Mart's house brands that undercut the supermarkets, but the name brand items are also cheaper. I'd rather shop there than anywhere else. Any business that can't adapt to having a Wal-Mart nearby ought to fail. In the natural world we call it survival of the fittest and Wal-Mart happens to be more fit than most other businesses. Deal with it.

Another anti-walmart leftist trolls writes in poor spelling and English.
You NEVER owned a Business either and probably only worked as a janitor.

I shop at Walmart for somethings and at Publix markets for others. Publix sometimes has items cheaper than Walmart. When Publix has a BOGO sale it is definitely cheaper than walmart and often their 5 or 10 for X dollars is cheaper because you get the lower price on a single unit of that item. Publix's meats are definitely cheaper than walmart when they are on sale, and BETTER quality too.

Once again I am here to sing the praises of Walmart. Over the years I have done so on many occasions.

Many misguided souls take the other side. They blame Walmart for ruining mom and pop grocery stores, mom and pop hardware stores, etc.

Not me, I praise cheaper prices. Moreover, it's what consumers voted for with there hard-earned dollars.

If anyone wants to pay more for stuff, all they have to do is shop at a mom and pop hardware...
