Every 4 years we elect a President and argue about the lessons of Viet Nam. Iraq is a new stand-in. As the comments suggest, we will argue and argue. The question for Viet Nam, for me, that needs answering: did it or not have a role in the end of the Cold War [or has that war ended?]
And if the 11 million illegals who live here obey the law, pay taxes, learn English, and understand the Constitution, they deserve legal status. ... 'IF' and yet if we allow for amnesty we'll be talking about 25 million someday... no 'if' about it. Mr. Kudlow is absolutely correct that free market principles would have a more open immigration program. But as M. Friedman noted, you can't have one in a Welfare State.

I'm not sure but doesn't Walmart pressure producers to cut costs before they are shipped to Walmart?

Article way off base. We are watching the demise of newspapers, any one here regret it? I don't. Unlinking the First amendment with $ in the name of some 'greater' value serves neither the First Amendment or the $ future of publishers. They can't cover the cost? then let someone else figure it out or go out of business.

From Park Ridge. Actually a very nice town along the NW corridor. She could have taken a train to Chicago. As for being a Yanks fan, I'm born in Chicago and was a Yanks fan. Whew... most I've defended Hillary since I sung 'ding dong the witch is dead' and realize Obama WAS going to be worse. But hey she's a hometown girl.

Heard this by an NBA announcer and was saving it. In reference to a player’s number on his jersey: “It’s not the number zero, it’s the letter zero!”
I live in the fair city by the lake and am the boss of one. Can't wait till I can move and never come back. Place is so screwed up - & Mr. Kass welcome to Townhall
And he hasn't announced that he's running for anything yet. When he does he'll have to tell us all the ways he's willing to compromise.
A wise article if it weren't about the Repubs who brought us No Child Left Behind, Campaign Finance Reform, first expansion govt since Medicare with drugs- soon to bring us another amnesty without fixing the border, backing off on repealing Obamacare to fiddle on the margins- question, since Reagan what govt program has been eliminated? If the answer is NONE, what more compromise do you consider wise?
No one have a problem that the author defends an Ad by Govt Motors? Whatever its message, I rooting for GM to go out of business for good.
