In response to:

No, Weed Isn't "Harmless"

Water and oxygen, when consumed to excess, are deadly - weed isn't harmless, but that's hardly the issue. If Republicans want to the be party that champions personal responsibility, personal freedoms and limited government, if we're going to rail at nanny-state regulations like what size a soda can be, then wtf are we doing? As a party, we need to get our noses out of other people's choices. Likely we got stuck with the worst economic president in our history over relatively secondary things like abortion and gay marriage - people turned out to vote against what they saw as Republican overreach into their lives.

One of the big issues is determining whether or not a person is still "under the influence" is far more difficult w/pot than it is with alcohol. The choice of somebody to get drunk on a saturday night but then flying an airplane the next monday is quite different from assessing if a brain surgeon is competent to perform major surgery if he is a chronic smoker of pot.

Frankly, I think the drug should be legalized with the proviso that an employer has total freedom to set standards by which they keep or fire an employee who has tested positive for THC. Since pot remains in the fatty tissue of the brain for 3 weeks or more, that would pretty much end all the problem, no?

Do you bobblies support or reject the govt nanny state? Stop equivocating!

I'd reject all nanny state stuff if people would just take personal responsibility. I have no problem with marijuana use. Just use it responsibly. If you screw up, don't try to find someone else to blame. The patient I cared for who fell asleep after a couple of joints and hit another car head on killing a young couple and their two children made a bad choice. It happens with booze, it will happen more often if more people smoke marijuana. If you can accept PERSONAL responsibility, government doesn't need to be your daddy or mommy.

So, you want your airline pilot or surgeon to chose to smoke a little weed before work? Good luck to you there. Nothing sharpens your skills like a good MJ buzz.

Our friend Steven Crowder recently took a trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan to expose a common lie about Marijuana use: it's not harmful. It turns out, Marijuana isn't "just a plant" that does less damage than alcohol. According to a doctor Crowder interviewed in the video below, Marijuana actually lingers in your brain and when smoked at a young age, prevents maturity from taking place (imagine that!).

As Crowder pointed out in the video, there are many cases to be made on both sides of the Marijuana legalization...
