But as long as the Cultural Marxists continue to hold their currently advantageous grip on the ideas and institutions that are shaping present-day U.S. culture, then POLITICAL activism alone, will once again prove to be futile. The hour is late, and the clock of destiny is ticking out. The Conservative community had better figure out how to apply its time and energy, and how to allocate its material resources, to the task of recapturing the CULTURE. If that goal can be achieved, then the securing of POLITICAL power will come naturally.

Dr. Sowell’s suggestion that America can turn back the surging tidal wave of sociopolitical and economic disaster by voting into political office the most qualified Republican candidates during “this year’s elections and in the 2016 presidential election,” is not anchored in reality. His faith in political-elections-based redemption is tragically misplaced. Sowell errs with his strategy of exalting POLITICS over CULTURE. The Conservative Thought System, which lies at the core of the Republican Party’s reason for being, has its roots planted deeply within Judeo-Christian Theism. There’s no way that you can separate American Conservatism from historical Western Christianism. From the late 1960s until today, Conservative Evangelical Christians have made the Republican Party their political home. The luminaries of the Evangelical intelligentsia are nearly unanimous in their self-identification as Republicans. And their congregants have been voting Republican since the Eisenhower years. In 1980, Conservatives who had thoughtfully and painstakingly constructed a new, relevant Conservative agenda saw their intellectual efforts rewarded with the election of President Ronald W. Reagan and Vice-President George H. W. Bush. The ensuing twelve years of Reagan-Bush governance did not result in a permanent realignment of the American electorate. Instead, the Cultural Marxists and other Far-Left operatives succeeded in dragging U.S. culture ever more deeply into the pit of anti-Christianism, even as the Moral Majority and the Christian Coalition labored to deliver more POLITICAL power into Christian Conservatives’ hands. Today’s American life trends, movies, television programs, failing public schools, and workplace trends all attest to the stagnation and inertia of the Conservative agenda, and to the intellectual lassitude that hallmarks Conservatism’s dearth of ideas. Conservatives invested boatloads of time and money into winning POLITICAL victories, while the Left was triumphant in capturing CULTURAL victories, one after another, after another. This is why the truth-claims and behavior-claims of Christianism are currently being ferociously attacked and driven out of the Public Square with ever-increasing rapidity. For certain people, the act of mobilizing politically, in order to elect Republicans to both the Congress and the White House, may provide some anesthetizing sense of “really doing something” to bring about a much-needed turnaround.
Mona Charen's analysis offers us a clear statement attesting to the fact that the United States of America has lost her way. In the same way that a wilderness trail hiker without a compass loses her way, a nation bereft of its moral compass becomes lost and incapable of figuring out which path it should take. Our moral compass is the thought system of truth-claims and behavior-claims found within the pages of the Hebrew Scriptures and the Christian-Greek Scriptures. When our nation upholds the mores, codes, ethics found within these Scriptures, she prospers, advances, and exerts leaderful influence upon the rest of planet Earth. Conversely, when our nation flouts the creeds and directives found within the Judeo-Christian Scriptures, then the ideas, strategies of the intellectual Left proceed to move in and to gain traction. This leads to the type of geopolitical confusion, spinelessness, self-contradiction, and cravenness that we now witness from the Obama administration. This president's refusal to uphold the Scriptural principle of one-man-one-woman marriage, along with his disparagement of the Biblical laws of history and of the principles by which humans and nations advance, is the reason for his ineptness regarding world affairs. His adherence to, and his promotion of, an ideology/worldview that fosters secularism, materialism, and the denigration of Scriptural morality and ethics has brought our nation to this current scenario of weakness and profound uncertainty. Our culture is being dismantled right before our very eyes because of this separation from the foundational guidelines found in the Biblical worldview. If conservatives don't wake up and start proclaiming that CULTURE is more important than POLITICS, then we are destined to go the way of the Roman Empire. Religionists who know that our country's top priority must be that of a right relationship with the Original Being--and with that Being's requirements for human life and behavior--had better find a way to join forces and to craft the type of strategies and action plans that are needed to wrest our culture from the toxic grip of the far Left. And that needs to happen quickly, while there's still time to right the ship.
The question to ask is "Why is that agenda advancing as successfully and as rapidly as it is?" If Christian Conservatism does indeed have the antidote to this far-Left-wing, Cultural Marxist plan for America's destruction, then why are these answers not being proclaimed and implemented by the luminaries of Conservative Talk Radio, by the superstar-anchors of Fox News, and by the intellectual-powerhouse Columnists of Townhall.com? Accurate analysis of the problem is one thing, but cogent and coherent counterproposals to the overwhelming nonsense is something else altogether.

Black People Duped

Darby, you are absolutely right. EssEffArr should not have accused you of "bigotry," but rather of LUNACY, since your remarks are fraught with a level of idiocy that only the profoundly intellectually incompetent would display. The idea that blacks such as Dr. Walter E. Williams, Dr. Thomas Sowell, Dr. Ben Carson, Rev. Harry Jackson, Dr. Glenn C. Loury, Dr. Anne Wortham, Justice Clarence Thomas, Professor Shelby Steele, Dr. Tony Brown, Mr. Robert Woodson, and myself, all "don't like being black, and would rather be white," lives in the minds of only those whites who are totally bereft of critical thinking skills, and whose intellects are incapable of accurately interpreting reality. Thus, they think with their emotions, and, thereby, reach conclusions that no logical, educated person would come to. In the workplace, 5 to 6 days a week, I labor alongside whites to make the business profitable and achieve my financial goals. I don't "dislike" any of my white co-workers. My Caucasian spouse and I have the type of relationship that has caused my side of the family to love and respect her, and has caused her side of the family to love and respect me. What is genuinely "sad indeed," Darby, is the inability of people who think as you do to offer to this Townhall.com post the type of comments that help to move the dialogue forward, rather than to drag the discussion ever more rapidly downward into the quagmire of trite, vapid, and emotional interjections. But you are correct, Darby, when you say that, "White people (i.e. those of your ilk) cannot help them (blacks)." Exactly. Because those whites haven't done the kind of thinking, researching, and reflecting that are required in order to have a correct grasp of the complex, present-day situation. Fortunately for our nation, there are whites who have done the necessary homework, and it's from these whites that we need to more often hear.

Cruz Control? Part II

The "lowering of the drawbridge" and the subsequent "charging out to defeat those socialist numb-skulls" won't happen anytime soon. And the reason is simple---it can't. If this could happen, it would have taken place by now. It should have happened during the 12 years of the presidencies of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. But it didn't. And it should have happened during the 8 years of George W. Bush's presidency. But it didn't. The reason today's conservatism is cowering and fleeing before liberalism's attacks is that conservatism is bereft of a philosophical base from which it can draw the weaponry required to destroy the arguments of present-day cultural Marxism and other strands of Leftist ideology. That's why we now have so much bickering and in-fighting between and among Republican conservatives. They don't know how they can articulate cogent answers to this nation's downward spiral in morality, culture, and civilizational stability. The conservative intelligentsia needs to face this problem squarely and honestly, and to realize that a "return to the olden days and to the old rules of living our lives" is neither an appealing nor a respectable proposal.

"Townhall mindset"? "Townhall rhetoric"? What??? These types of vague and indeterminate disparagements are the expected results of a politicized glossary, elicited from a mind filled with emotionalized sound and fury, signifying nothing. What is your point/argument? Oh, that's right. When no argument exists, simply resort to ad hominim attacks. Profound, Dollysboy. Simply profound. A new level of psychobabble, bereft of philosophical content. And in accord with which enlightened theory of education do you operate?

As ususal, we readers can thank Dr. Williams for a truly thought-provoking analysis of the issue and for an accurate synopsis of what we're up against, regarding this problem. And no one can argue with his conclusion that schools of education have got to be eliminated. That elimination, however, will never take place as long as we remain a nation whose elected leaders are being guided by a hollow worldview with no center. Currently, our education industry is in total disarray, and there is no agreed-upon theory of education that our system is being philosophically guided and united by. That's the problem we must confront and deal with now. How are we going to resolve this dearth of philosophical unity, purpose, and direction?

Jesse Jackson Praises Legacy of Chavez

Specificus Wrote: Mar 09, 2013 5:54 PM
In the aftermath of Jesse Jackson Jr.'s sensational plummet from political prominence and pertinence, it's only fitting that Jesse Jackson Sr. make a lame effort such as this, in order to convince himself and his supporters that he and his family still have relevance, insofar as playing a role in confronting the national and international concerns that still face the United States. There are, tragically, too many people in our country who continue to want the public to overlook Jackson's and his family's non-leaderful behavior and to continue the pretense of holding him up as the person who "speaks for black America." When this charade will end, not even God knows.
Content such as this, from "mhood175," offers proof positive that our educational system has failed miserably at inculcating critical thinking skills and useful faculties of logical reasoning to those who currently populate this nation.
