In response to:

Obama's Real Hilary Rosen Problem

Rosen's bone-headed comments come from the assumption that the only reason women don't work outside the home is because they are ignorant or incompetent. It would never occur to her that we do it because we choose to take the higher ground of actually raising our own children rather than shoving them off onto some stranger. Raising one's own children demands personal sacrifice, something Rosen probably wouldn't comprehend. Raising one's children WELL demands intelligence, good judgment, courage, leadership, good moral character, and the ability to multitask! There are lifelong consequences for making mistakes. Frankly, I don't think this woman has enough guts to be a stay-at-home mom ...easier to let somebody else do it.

Spokespersons and pundits stick their foot in it all the time. But rarely do we see public relations heavy artillery brought out to do damage control to the extent provoked by Hilary Rosen’s recent remark that Ann Romney “never worked a day in her life.”

President Obama himself responded to this – “…it was the wrong thing to say.” First Lady Michelle Obama tweeted repudiating Rosen – “Every mother works hard and every woman deserves to be respected.”

Clearly, Rosen’s short verbal assault on Ann Romney was something the Obama campaign apparatus saw as a very serious problem. But why?
