With the last amnesty, strictly enforcing existing immigration laws, promised by the Simpson-Mazzoli Act, was supposed to be part of the deal. And what exactly did we get? This is a major reason I opposed to anything that vaguely resembles amnesty...rewarding law breakers. It will only encourage more of it in the future. America is doomed if we give these illegals amnesty.

According to a new Rasmussen Report, the majority of American voters will only support an immigration reform package if border security comes before a path to citizenship.

Just 26% support a plan that would provide legal status for those already in the country illegally who otherwise have obeyed the law if it doesn’t include tougher border control. Fifty-eight percent (58%) oppose a plan stripped of this provision.
