I don't agree with Immelt's politics, but he does make one valid point. If they need something done, say a new road built, in China, they just go ahead and do it. Here, we spend millions to form a committee to study the problem for 5 years, then assess environmental impact. Then it gets bid out to union contractors and we can only hope it comes in on time and under budget (hahaha). Granted, we do need some environmental concern and respect for private property, else we'll end up with brown skies and water and railroaded homeowners like China, but I think that particular point is valid, no matter what else about the Chinese government is bad.

Immelt and Comrade Hussein admire that sort of "government" because of the absolute POWER;nobody can stop them from doing as they please. Immelt and Comrade Hussein want that same unrestricted power for themselves.

Sure it works in China, they don't have any unions. Can you imagine what would happen to the Chinese worker ordered to get to work building a new road telling his "manager" that he and his coworkers were going on strike? One in the back of the head and his family would get the bill for the bullet. But hey, the system works.

You have a stunted view of just how the Chinese system works. Our corporations are lining up to do business with them not just because there are a lot of Chinese but because their business practices are hyper wild west. It has become all about money and not much else there. The communist party is just another fascist government. It has little now to do with real communism. Read about the Cultural Revolution. I have been to China several times and the American people have no idea just how fast they are developing and expanding their industrial base.

Yes, and most of the business deals are designed to profit the Chinese. American companies get cheap labor but the Chinese government gets its share of the profits. Most of the new wealthy Chinese are connected to Communist Party leaders in some way. It isn't the average Chinese who is becoming wealthy in the new Chinese economy.

They also have their share of Chinese mafia over there. I know someone who refused to pay the mafia and was threatened and so were her employees. She left to return to California and when she got back they had closed down her business and stole everything. She has testified before Congress about this but as far as I know nothing has been done to help her.

“Jim Jett always used to say that his brother was the damndest scoundrel that was ever borne,” drawled Abraham Lincoln, “but by the infinite mercy of providence he was also the damndest fool.”

Jeffrey Immelt, the modern version of Jim Jett’s brother and Chief Executive Officer of General Electric, should be fired.

Actually, if it’s possible, he should be fired twice: once because he’s a scoundrel and another time because he’s a fool.

As a fool and as a scoundrel, the guy has wonderful timing; timing that can only be attributed to the vast Left-Wing conspiracy that aims to convince...
