Apple outsources most production overseas. He didn't so much create something as market something really well. His company's products aren't really better than all others, but he brilliantly managed to convince people they are. Buffett is the other side of the coin. He recognizes the potential value in companies and risks some of his money that those companies will produce that value. There's nothing wrong with that. His investment makes the companies more able to produce, so I don't think he creates "nothing."
Yup, and the sheeple are ignorant enough to buy it. We had the same problem here in Mass. The fools voted in Elizabeth Warren, who made a bundle flipping real estate and also worked in court cases supporting companies against individuals. Yet people believed she was for "the little guys." I really despise liberals, but they do seem to be very good at marketing. The GOP needs to pick up on their tactics.
ROFL! Yeah, Europe is ever so successful right now. Just look at all the people moving to France to take advantage of that awesome 75% income tax. LOL! And hey, what great health care, where you wait so long for treatment you die before getting any.
Exactly! Adding still more layers of regulation will do nothing but make money for lawyers. That's what happens when we continue to elect mostly lawyers to political office.
Yup. It was Obama, after all, who stole GM from the secured bondholders and gave it to his union buddies as a payoff. No wonder he supports Bennet.
Profit is not a 4-letter word, except to socialists who can't stand that others may make more money than they do.
Being able to take care of yourself should not be a rare skill, but these "progressives" seemed determined that we all end up helpless and dependent on government. One look at the Katrina aftermath should be enough to convince anyone of the folly of this line of thought, but I guess a lot of people have short memories or are too stupid to figure it out.
My dad was the same - mostly. My brothers and I were always out fishing or playing with hammers and power tools in the wood shop. He even taught me to fire his rifle at the gun club. I never got to go hunting, though, since my dad and uncles always did boys-only hunting trips. Conversely, my mom and dad both taught all of us to cook and do laundry. I never thought this was unusual until I went to college and watched perplexed males try to figure out the washers and dryers in the dorm. Or watching my male housemates try to cook a meal. My brother used to laugh that his frat brothers liked when it was his turn to cook because he was the only one who could make something besides spaghetti.
Nowadays, you'd probably be considered racist for dressing that way, too, especially if you had a sidekick dressed like Tonto. Granted, that 50's image was derogatory to Native Americans, but where does one draw the line? Today you can't even look sideways at anyone without being accused of racism. Look at how the liberals cry racism whenever anyone disagrees with the Big O. Yet, they are the ones who call their own minority members racist names when they choose not to support the liberal agenda.
No kidding. We had pop rifles and cap guns and would run around the neighborhood playing cops and robbers, firing our cap guns all day long. I haven't seen a cap gun, nor any caps to put in it, in many years.
Some women would make very good combat troops. I know a couple of female cops and another who was a Marine who I would put up against most men with no concern. I think blanket bans based on gender are foolish. If women can meet the requirements, I say let them fight. They have a right to defend their country and people, just like any man. Heck, women can be fierce, especially when their families may be threatened. Look at nature. Don't they always say not to get between a mama bear and her cubs?
